WELCOME TO LUNAR YEAR, The Year of Rabbit.
At this annual time of new beginnings, ABChapri Retreats invites you to join us in celebrating a whole range of benign future possibilities: fun-filled feasts and family festivities at home, and further afield, the returned possibility of transformative travels for the good of mind, body, and soul.
Perhaps the most colourful calendar belongs to the Chinese, who chart this 2022-2023 new year as the transition from the Year of the Tiger to the Year of the Rabbit. This is a highly auspicious transition, as the Rabbit, the fourth animal in the zodiac, is considered the most fortuitous of all – entailing better fortune, increased prosperity and happiness, and more enjoyable cultural activities, including education and travel. Thus according to the ancient sages of the far East, there is a general rise in fortune and comfort in both work and life ahead. Going by the Chinese lunar calendar, this nourishing time begins with New Year on January 22nd 2023, and lasts until the next New Year’s eve, which falls on February 9th 2024.
So why not take advantage of this new beginning by giving your loved ones the holiday of a lifetime in one of our 4 small, intimate low-impact properties?
For those with a head for heights, the snow-covered peaks of the lovely Kashmir valley beckon, offering stylish and romantic accommodation in either the Qayaam Gah mountain retreat or the Sukoon houseboat on Srinagar’s famed Dal Lake. Forest walks and dinner around an open fire, or market browsing and just watching the world drift by are on offer here.
Or, for those with a penchant for the beach life, there is Neeleshwar Hermitage, our multi award-winning facility fronting the Arabian sea in Malabar, the unspoilt end of Kerala. You can enjoy Ayurveda treatments, yoga and meditation, long beach walks or just simple relaxation amidst traditional thatched cottages and a luxurious paradise garden.
