Neeleshwar is Coming Closer!

Neeleshwar is Coming Closer!

We are delighted to announce that on April 25th Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express, the sixteenth of these fast trains throughout India. It will run between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod, covering eleven districts of Kerala.

This is particularly good news for all the guests of The Hermitage, as it will provide them with a clean, efficient, and well-catered service (with wi-fi connection) that takes only 4.30 hrs to or from Kochi, which is already a popular entry point from the West and the start of many inbound journeys. So, visitors can now fly into Kochi, have few days exploring the history and architecture there, and then take a comfortable train ride up North to the very different world of Magical Malabar.

This new link opens up two possible routes for our guests:

a)    Arrive in Kochi and take the train to Kannur, then a 45-minute transfer to Payannur brings you to the Lotus Houseboat. An overnight cruise on this stylish boat disembarks at Lotus Point, which is a short transfer to the Hermitage by car (10 mins). Or, for those who want some exercise, there is the healthy option of a transfer by bicycle (c. 30 mins) with your bags going ahead of you by car to await your arrival in your room.

OR:

b)   Arrive in Mumbai and then fly on to Mangalore or Kannur and proceed by road to The Hermitage. For the homeward leg, the train will take you from Kasaragod to Kochi to catch your homebound flight.

Either way, Neeleshwar Hermitage is now nearer than ever.

We hope to See you soon!

"Neeleshwar is hybrid of a boutique hotel and an Ayurvedic wellness centre. Its 18 palm roofed villas are scattered across the sand, their porches cooled by spinning ceiling fans, and at the rear of each is a large outdoor bathroom with a tub set in a small walled garden. At the seafood restaurant, tables spill out into the beach, freshly draped in new combinations of linens for each meal: turquoise and pink or deep orange and violet."
